Chiropractic Acupuncture

At Texas Injury Clinic we are happy to announce that we are now adding acupuncture to our services. Now patients who want to experience the best of what both the chiropractor and the acupuncturist can offer will have access to that at our clinic. This evolving field of medicine known as Chiropractic Acupuncture combines the two sciences. This field focuses on the body’s energy pathways or meridians in relation to the spinal and nervous systems. Practitioners are chiropractors who are also trained in acupuncture and implement it into the chiropractic treatments of their patients to alleviate pain and potentially achieve even more effective result. Chiropractors who are qualified to do dual procedures are governed by the American Board of Chiropractic Acupuncture.

One of the biggest advantages of acupuncture is that it is considered to be relatively safe, provided your acupuncture session is undertaken by a professional who is well trained in the field. Our chiropractic acupuncturist, Dr. Juan M. Sanchez has practiced chiropractic for 28 years and has over 15 years of clinical experience practicing chiropractic acupuncture.

Acupuncture involves stimulating points on the body with thin metallic needles that are inserted into the skin and then manipulated by hand or using electrical stimuli. It is purported to work by regulating the flow of the vital energy of the body, or its “qi.” Both Chiropractic and Acupuncture work in ways that empower the body to heal without the use of drugs, surgery or other invasive treatment. Both are also designed to correct imbalances, prompt natural healing and restore a state of health that was formerly impeded. Each treatment accomplishes this in its own unique way.

Chiropractic treatment is most commonly administered using targeted manual adjustments throughout the spine to correct Subluxations or obstructions that are based within the nervous system. Acupuncture, on the other hand, is based on the overall flow of biological energy across the body’s meridian points. Just as the hands are used to adjust the spine, puncture or pressure is used to manipulate precise Meridian Points. In many difficult to treat cases, the use of chiropractic care and acupuncture together may be the most efficient treatment method with the fastest results.

Based on your wellness goals, we can work together to determine if Chiropractic or Acupuncture, or a combination of both; Chiropractic and Acupuncture would be the best alternative program for you.
